Victorinox to remain "THE" Swiss Army Knife manufacturer
Victorinox the manufacturer of the famous "Swiss Knife" won a tender to supply the Swiss Army with the knives which are part of the soldier's equipment. This is the first time a tender to supply the "Army Knives" was made open for companies from outside Switzerland.
The new "Soldier's Knife" replaces the older which was introduced in 1961. The new knife has some major changes from the older one.
- Bigger size of the whole knife.
- Knife blade is now bigger in size (used to be 6.5 cm now 8.5 cm)
- Knife blade can be opened using one hand.
- I expect the Knife blade locks when opened.
- Additional Phillips screwdriver.
- Additional wood saw.
